Yet another week has come and gone. The excitement from my BIG birthday has wained, and now I am stuck with the dull reality of being 50, which actually, isn’t that bad. For my birthday, we visited the California Wolf Center in Julian. I have been in love with wolves as long as I can remember. I consider the wolf my spirit animal, but honestly, I have no idea what that means. Seeing these magnificent creatures up close was a dream come true.
Wolves, as an apex predator, are essential to our ecosystem. But wolves have been given a bum rap with most of us fearing wolves from an early age due to tales like The Three Little Pigs and Little Red Riding Hood. Wolves were put on the Endangered Species List in 1973, with only a dozen left across North America.
Now their long term survival is dependent upon conservation efforts, breeding, and reintroduction programs by groups like the California Wolf Center. Now imagine the more significant impact they could have across the country if allowed to thrive.

- John Legend was chosen as the Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine, and I am totally on board. His sexiness is so relatable, and his relationship with Chrissy Teigen is so sweet. They are America’s sweetheart couple, in my opinion. Do you follow Chrissy Teigen on Twitter? She is hella funny!
- The Crown returns to Netflix on Nov. 17th, and though I am excited for the return of this fantastic series, I am not sure how I will react to the whole new cast. Claire Foy was outstanding as Queen Elizabeth, so Olivia Colman has her work cut out for her, but being she is a recent Oscar winner, I am sure she is up to the challenge. It helps that it has been almost two years since season 2 was released, and likely, most of us finished it that week.
- And no matter what your politics are this week was history-making as the House started it’s Impeachment Hearings. I, for one, am riveted. I can’t help but watch. What about you? 100% why this post didn’t get out until 5 p.m. Friday.
