Black Friday Wish List

I had a mini freak out when I looked at the calendar this morning. Can it truly be that Thanksgiving is less than two weeks away? I need to get organized, not for cooking turkey but for the onslaught of sales starting Friday. I’m not a “fight the crowds” kinda person. I prefer to do my shopping online. Most sites offer free returns, and it is so much easier to shop from the convenience of your home without the hassle of parking, lines, and people.

My Black Friday Strategy

One way I get ready is by adding to cart all of the items I hope will go on sale. Then I check back Friday to see what actually went on sale.  Two major benefits:

  1. Saves a ton of time when you have items at multiple sites you want to purchase.
  2. It helps reduce impulse purchases.

I also prioritize where I want to shop first. For example, online specialty retailers like Shopbop, Net-a-Porter, Farfetch usually have smaller inventory and, therefore, tend to sell out more quickly. I can check out quickly at Nordstrom, so that is often my first stop. After I have purchased the items on my list or in my cart, I then go back and browse the other things on sale. It is a great time to pick up gifts for everyone on your list.

I usually pick up all my stocking stuffers from Amazon. They have an incredible selection of just about everything, and you can’t go wrong with Prime 2-day shipping. If you need some gift inspiration, check out my Gift Guides.
