The Tea a Weekly Series News Happenings and Sales

Hello Everybody! I know it has been a while. It seems longer because March was like a million days long. April isn’t turning out much better. Last time I spilled, The Tea was back in February when Covid 19 was marching its way across the globe but hadn’t yet made a significant impact here in the US. Wow! How things have changed.

We have been on a Stay at Home order since March 13th. The kids’ school went online on March 16th, and because of my surgery, I haven’t left the house since March 3rd. You would think with all that time at home, I would be incredibly productive. But that is definitely not the case. It has taken me about a month to digest and adjust to the new “normal.”

Many days, I found myself staring aimlessly at my phone, hoping for better news, distracting myself on Facebook and Instagram, and putting things in and taking things out of my cart at my favorite stores. I take solace in the fact that all of my friends seem to be in the same place. A global pandemic is a lot to process y’all!

I don’t know if it is the warmer weather or finding my groove, but I finally feel more productive. There are so many fabulous sales right now, as all major retailers are hurting. Shopping always energizes me, and I have been searching for the sales to bring you the very best of what is out there. You can justify your purchases as helping the economy.

Weekly Sales Spotlight

  • Anthropologie has been killin’ it with the sales. Currently, they are offering 30% off almost all clothing. Also, if you have the app, they have been running Appy-Hour specials with items discounted up to 40%.
  • I recently featured the Letitia Smocked Blouse on my Instagram. The colors are quirky but fabulous. The fabric drapes beautifully, and the floral is fun with white denim.
  • The Georgina Tiered Shirtdress is loose and comfortable for lounging at home and dressy enough for a summer party when paroled.
  • The Zoe Leopard-Trim Kimono caught my eye a while ago. Now seems a good time to pull the trigger.
  • I’m a sucker for a good black dress, and the Alisha Tiered Maxi Dress is a perfect addition to my collection. It is super flattering and easily dressed up.

Midlife women in Anthropologie Alisha Tiered Maxi Dress

  • Urban Outfitters is having a Spring Sale with up to 50% off during this flash sale.
  • Most of the stuff on sale works for my teenage daughter, but I found this cute little zip-up floral maxi dress.
  • By the same brand, Résumé the Sophia Tiered Frock caught my eye. I am feeling all the feels for stylish dresses that can be worn comfortably now and look good later.
  • UO also has a few Faithful The Brand floral dresses on sale now.

  • There have been non-stop sales at Nordstrom. Right now, they are offering up to 50% off their Nordstrom only brands, including Halogen, Caslon, and more.
  • The  1901 Cotton Blend Cardigan is perfect for warm summer nights. Wear it over your favorite dress for an added layer of warmth.
  • This cute little Rattan Crossbody bag is under $60.
  • Dreaming of summer and wearing shorts. These Caslon Utility Shorts are 50%.

  • J.Crew sale includes 30% off select full-price items, including new arrivals and $50 off select denim.
  • I just scooped up this Drapey Scoop Neck top. It is an elevated basic that makes an outfit.
  • I love the tiny floral of this Ruffle Popover shirt.
  • J.Crew offers most of their jeans in tall, which I need. Right now, select jeans are $50 off, including the petite and tall.

Stuff to Munch On

  • First, it is unfortunate it must be said, but don’t munch on Clorox or any other disinfectant.  It will not cure C19!
  • Shout out to the health care heroes who, on their day off, decided to protest the protesters. Their silent bravery and their commitment to helping others are awe-inspiring.
  • What is one comfort food you have been eating more of since quarantine? Mine is pancakes. Somehow they just soothe my soul. The Martha Stewart Buttermilk Pancakes are my favorite. Finding buttermilk isn’t always easy, but when we do, we make a lot of pancakes. Thanks, Sarah, for sending the recipe.
  • Have you been on Tik Tok yet? I love all the families doing the group dances together. So, I tried to convince my kids, but they are not having it. I think they are afraid their parents will show them up on their dancing skills. ?
  • If you need a little distraction from the mess around the house, 12 of Frank Lloyd Wright Homes are Now Offering Virtual Tours.
