Weekly Sales Spotlight

  • Many of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale items are back in stock and on sale. Some even discounted more than during the NAS. So if you missed out then, you can pick them up now.
    • I hesitated during the NAS to purchase another Gibson Notch Collar Blazer, this time in hot pink, and they sold out immediately. They are back in stock in all colors and 40%—easily the most versatile blazer I own. I have the black & the white already.
    • The super cute Vince Tie Waist Cotton T-Shirt Dress is back on sale and worth picking up. I purchased in my usual size Medium, and it fits great.
    • This trendy Vince Stripe Wool Sweater is a whopping 60% off. I don’t remember such a deep discount on any item just moments into fall. I like the green with blue stripe Vince Sweater better, but it is only discounted 40%. Only – ha! 40% is a great discount on this fabulous sweater.
    • I just ordered the Paul Green Dynamic Boot. I am kinda obsessed with booties, and I love Paul Green. The PG Ally Low Sneaker was not part of the NAS sale, but I recently received them and loved the fit and feel.
    • Honestly, I could go on and on with the great sale items at Nordstrom. You should check this sale out. It is a good one.
  • Shopbop is also having a significant sale with prices up to 70% off. Items are going fast, so shop soon.
    • Shopbop’s selection of denim is incredible. I have several pairs of Mother jeans. They are soft and comfortable and have just the right amount of stretch. The Mother Stunner Ankle Fray has the right amount of distressing, not too dark/not too light wash.
    • They also have an incredible selection of fashion and designer purses. I am eyeing the Staud Island Tote. It has the most buttery leather and on-trend styling.
  • Anthropologie is offering an additional 30% sale clothing.
  • Bloomingdale’s is having their Friends & Family Event with 25% off marked items. Now through October 12th.
  • rag & bone offers 25% off select fall styles + 30% sale styles.
    • I am dying over the Shiloh Zip Front Boot in Antique White. I love my Shawn Chelsea’s, and these are a great light color alternative.
  • Splendid – 30% off during their semi-annual sale with code: FAM.

Things to Munch On

  • StyleDahlia is a fashion & lifestyle blog to celebrate the beauty of life. However, 2020 has been difficult. I have struggled with keeping things light while feeling deep sorrow for our world. At times, I have delved into topics considered taboo for bloggers & influencers like racial justice and women’s rights. I don’t see these as political but as a part of human rights. It is something that all bloggers have been struggling with. My favorite blogger is Shana from The Mom Edit. She discusses the challenges of staying apolitical in this Buzzfeed article. As always, she nails it.
  • Regardless of party, I think we all can agree that voting is critical this and every year. And in true blogger style, I found the 10 Best Items to Promote The Vote. Please make a plan to vote. Vote early if you can.

The best Vote merchandise for the 2020 election

    • Prince Peter Vote Tee – Recently released currently available in all sizes. Love the rainbow vibe.
    • When We All Vote Face Mask, Set of 2 – Because there is nothing more patriotic than voting, but there is nothing more considerate these days than wearing your mask. Wear the darn mask!
    •  Vote Collection – Go Vote Tee – Treasure & Bond tee in grey. My favorite color for a graphic tee. I have so many, but I may need this one.
    • Feed Project Vote Bag – Purchasing this bag provides ten school lunches to kids in need. Find out more at Feed Project.
    • Madewell Vote Tee – Another fun and creative tee.
    • Vote Pin – Maybe a pin is more your speed. You can wear on your favorite suit, purse, or tee.
    • Vote Cap – Who doesn’t love a good baseball cap? Signal the need to vote with this fab cap.
    • Vote Sweatshirt – For those of you in cooler places—a cool sweatshirt for your cold climate.
    • Vote Heishi Bracelet – I just ordered this bracelet. Such a fun look. Quantities going fast, so get your quick if you want one.
    • Vote Yard Sign – Skip the partisan sign and urge people to vote with a Vote Yard sign.

  • In other news, H&M just announced it is closing 5% of its retail stores for a total of 250 stores. They just opened in San Diego’s UTC mall. I wonder what is to become of our newest store or the seven others around San Diego? Many retailers have announced store closings as a result of Covid-19 and the increase in online shopping.
  • Apple announced in September the Apple Watch 6. I’ve gone around and round on whether I need one. After the announcement, I ordered mine. It won’t be delivered until Nov., giving me plenty of time to debate my decision. What are your thoughts? Is it awesome? or is it unnecessary? I am not the type to pick up my phone at every bing, so I fear that the watch would encourage me to do that more.  After watching the Social Dilemna on Netflix, I am even more mindful of their attempts to hook us. However, I am intrigued by the heart rate monitor, sleep tracker, and exercise tracker. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Have a lovely first weekend of October. When my kids were little, the first weekend of October meant a sweaty trip to the pumpkin patch for a photo opp. Hours carving pumpkins to have them rot days later and eating all the Halloween candy before the actual night. I miss those days.
