I’m on a role! Two weeks in a row. Welcome to The Tea – Weekly sales round up & my musings on life. The big thing in my life this week is today I have been sober 27 years. 10.09.93 I took my last drink having no idea it would truly be my last. It wasn’t a particularly bad drunk (for me, ha!) but it was in a new town and everything felt unfamiliar.
I thought my drug use was the “real” problem so when I moved to San Diego, I told myself I would quit doing drugs. In a little over a month, I abandoned that conviction and somehow, in that moment, I realized I was out of control. To admit I was an alcoholic was much harder but came eventually. But from that day to this day, I have not had a drink or drug in 27 years. An unimaginable feat considering I couldn’t go a few days with it.
By the grace of God and by taking it one day at a time, I have learned to live life on life’s terms. I know miracles happen because I am a miracle. If you suspect you or someone you love has a drinking problem please check out The 12 Questions Only You Can Answer.

Things to Munch On
- 2020 keeps knocking us for a loop. I was sad to hear of the passing of Eddie Van Halen earlier this week. No child of the 80’s will forget his guitar playing, song writing and onstage antics with Van Halen. His relationship with Valerie Bertanelli was rocky but when they first got together it was the quintessential good girl falls for bad boy scenario all of us teenybopper girls secretly dreamed of. Eddie battled addiction and cancer for many years. Cancer finally got him. He was 65. I am sorry he is gone.
- I got my ballot in the mail today. In California all registered voters receive a mail in ballot. I am grateful to live in a state which puts our health and safety first. Have you voted yet? - The Chanel Spring Ready to Wear fashion show took place this week and as always it was a stunner! To check out the looks or watch the video head to Vogue. Chanel really doesn’t fit into my casual lifestyle but it is art and I appreciate the beauty of each design. However, a Chanel Boy Bag in on my purse wish list!
- When President Trump told the Proud Boys a dangerous far-right, neo-facist organization to, “stand down and stand by” the group made it their slogan. This week the cyber world took back the hashtag by flooding the internet with gay men. Hooray for the ingenuity of people. Spread love, not hate!
- Wild fires are still ravaging our state. Over 4M acres have burned across our California making it the worst fire season in our state’s history. I am praying for all those affected in CA and across the west. The devastation is unreal. Check out these photos from CNN. It is truly heartbreaking. Thank you fire fighters for all you do. We are immensely grateful.
