Converse High Tops are having a major fashion moment. They have always been popular, but right now, they are boy band pandemonium popular. It is no surprise because Converse has upped its game with many new styles. I love the new Platform Converse High Tops. So I decided I would share my favorite outfits with Converse High Tops.
Count yourself lucky if you could get your hands on a pair of Converse before Christmas. They are sold out everywhere. I got a pair for my DD for Xmas and promptly decided I needed them for myself. Sites are regularly restocking, so sign up for restock alerts if you want a pair. That is how I got my pair.

Outfit #1: Converse + Turtleneck Sweater + Jeans + Corduroy Jacket
The Converse Platforms are crazy comfortable. Though it isn’t often the case, the platform adds cushioning to these traditionally flat, flat shoes. The soles are cushy. I opted for the platform sneakers for this exact reason.
Converse shoes are statement makers. They have high contrast details that draw your eye. For this reason, I like to keep the rest of my outfit simple. Many influencers wear Converse with all types of prints, but I prefer pairing these fun shoes with classic pieces. For example, add a simple black turtleneck sweater & jeans, which always look stylish.
With this simple outfit, you are free to add your favorite jacket or coat for warmth. I added a black corduroy jacket from & Other Stories I picked up a few years ago. The corduroy detail adds interest to this otherwise uncomplicated outfit.
- Sweater: Essential Cashmere Turtleneck Sweater
- Jeans: MV Magee Tapered Jeans
Outfit #2: Converse + Tee + Blazer + Trousers
This outfit is perfect for an informal work environment or lunch with friends. I love a casual suit for any day of the week. It is effortless and pulled together all at the same time. Oversized blazers are trending, but tailored blazers are making a comeback for spring. So pick your favorite style and add Converse High Tops for a little fun.
- Blazer: Aritzia Flores Blazer
- White Tee: Organic Cotton Box-Cut Tee
- Trousers: Bootcut Editor Pant in Supersoft Twill
Outfit #3: Converse + Hoodie + Blazer + Trousers
Another one of my favorite combinations is a hoodie & blazer. This option is perfect for the winter months when extra layers are necessary. The hoodie works well with the casual vibe of the Converse, but the blazer and pants elevate the look to chic. You can easily substitute your trousers for your favorite jeans.
Both cropped and full-length denim will work with this outfit. However, if you want to highlight, the shoes pick a slightly cropped style. Stay away from skinny jeans unless you want to look like an early 2000’s teenager.
On a side note, I purchased the Aritzia Wilfred Effortless Pants for my daughter. They are amazing. The fabric has the perfect slouchy drape for an effortlessly cool-girl look. I quickly ordered for myself in hopes of them being here in time for this post. Sadly, their delivery time is seriously delayed. They are worth the wait, however. I can’t wait for mine to arrive. They would be my preferred pants for this outfit.
- Blazer: Oversized Blazer Glen Plaid
- Sweatshirt: Organic Cotton Hoodie (similar zip front) or Lightweight French Terry Hoodie (new colors)
- Trousers: Bootcut Editor Pant in Supersoft Twill
Outfit #4: Converse + Maxi Dress
I don’t wear many dresses, but when I do, I almost always wear them with sneakers. There is something about sneakers that grounds the feminine look of a dress. Plus, sneakers are just more comfortable than sandals or heels. So add Converse sneakers to any of your favorite casual dresses, from mini to max dresses.
Many people say this is just a look for tall people, but I disagree. I think the combo of sneakers + dresses looks great on everyone.
Most teenagers these days wear Converse with their homecoming & prom dresses. How smart. This is one way I know the kids today are destined to fix the world. When you are intelligent and practical at such a young age, you are destined for greatness. Plus, it is much easier to heal the earth in comfortable shoes!
- Dress: Eyelet Flutter Sleeve Maxi Dress (similar) or Livi Linen Maxi Dress (similar)
Outfit #5: Converse + Plaid Leggings + Shirt + Sweater + Blazer
This outfit definitely has a bit of a skater girl vibe with the plaid leggings, but by adding a button-up shirt, crew neck sweater, and blazer, the look feels fresh. I am a firm believer that leggings are pants. So I am sure it is no surprise that leggings have been in heavy rotation in my outfits lately.
To avoid looking like you just left the gym, keep the other pieces tailored and/or classic.
- Shirt: Gap, Free People, J.Crew, Frank & Eileen
- Sweater: Cashmere Recycled Crew, but they also have this $75 option that is amazing, The Essential Sweater. It is worth clicking the link to see Naadam’s fabulous marketing for this sweater. It is sure to make you smile.
- Blazer: Oversized Blazer – It is currently sold out but will likely return for spring.
- Leggings: Runway Plaid Leggings (similar), or Runway Plaid Leggings (red)
Outfit # 6: Converse + Plaid Leggings + Shirt + Cacoon Cardigan
If you are anything like me, you have been haunted on social media by the Jenni Kayne Cashmere Cocoon sweater. I finally gave in to the pressure and ordered it. It made it much easier now that Nordstrom carries the brand. You got to love Nordies for their stellar customer service and return policy.
I hoped I wouldn’t like the sweater because it is so expensive. However, it is so soft and luxurious that I immediately swooned, cut the tags off, and put it on. The sweater is incredibly warm, and truth be told, probably too warm for most days in CA (at least for this perimenopausal woman), but I love it!
The cacoon cut keeps it from looking too matronly. Somehow, it isn’t bulky despite being thick cashmere and generously cut. So if you are ripe for a splurge or have some Nordstrom Notes consider this sweater. You won’t regret it.
- Shirt: Gap, Free People, J.Crew, Frank & Eileen
- Sweater: Cashmere Cocoon Sweater
- Leggings: Runway Plaid Leggings (similar), or Runway Plaid Leggings (red)
Outfit #7: Converse + Cargo Pants + Hoodie + Shacket
I am a long-time devotee of cargo pants. So it is exciting to see them back. It always feels good to mix up your daily uniform of jeans + with a new style of pants. This year I suggest loose-fit pleated trousers & cargo pants. Both look great with Converse but also work well with dressier shoe options.
The pair I’m wearing feels like cheating since they are Spanx. They are technically leggings because of the pull-on style, but the heavy twill lands them firmly in the pants category. Just more evidence that most people view leggings as pants. Honestly, no one will ever know (am I the only one who hears the TikTok audio of this phrase when they say it?) they are leggings.
I also want to shout out to the Good American shacket I am wearing. I worried that it would quickly fade but wash after wash, and this jacket has held its rich deep color. It is impressive.
- Hoodie: Organic Cotton Hoodie (similar zip front) or Lightweight French Terry Hoodie (new colors)
- Shacket: GA Fleece Shacket (Good American) or (Shopbop)
- Pants: Stretch Twill Cargo Pants available in petite, regular and tall. Currently under $65. I’m wearing a large.
Converse High Tops are so popular right now; getting your hands on a pair is challenging. Christmas has undoubtedly depleted the inventory, but retailers will begin to restock as January rolls on. I have provided quick links at the bottom to my favorite pairs of Converse. Some are in stock, and some are in limited supply. If you see a pair, you like check back often. Returns are constantly happening, and inventory adjusts.
As I mentioned above, I signed up for an email alert on multiple websites, and when the pair I wanted, became available I snagged them.
