One Dress – Four Ways

Anthro Snake Print Dress Close-up

A Super Spring Dress Option

I picked up quite a few items at the recent AnthroDay sale. One of my favorites is this Juno Printed Dress. The dress is available in five different patterns. I chose the beige snake print but I am also eyeing the green flower motif. The dress is a perfect piece for the transition from spring to summer and the snake print is oh, so, of the moment. At $130 it is well worth the money even when not on sale. I purchased a large because Maeve tends to fit me tight through the chest if I don’t size up. I also like a loose dress to fit loosely. Seems silly to say but if a dress is a loose style but tight in the bust then I think it is ill-fitted. This can be a major problem for the big busted as sizing up can mean a dress is crazy wide on the bottom. I found the large to fit perfectly. It is also a great length for us tall girls. It also comes in Petite if that works best for you.

How I’m Wearing It Now

This dress can easily be worn during the cool spring season. First, I paired it with a chunky cream sweater, my Madewell Oversized Denim Jacket and Michael Kors brown suede boots. Next, I topped the dress with a J.Crew Sophie Open Front Sweater-Blazer. Both outfits will keep me sufficiently warm for spring and the layers can easily be removed as needed if by surprise we end up with a warm spring day. (Here’s hoping for warm spring days soon!)

Summer Styling

Dresses are the perfect go-to for effortless summer style. It is so easy to put on a cute dress and off you go, looking pulled together and ready for the day. When I am on the go, I always reach for my M.Gemi Cerchio sneakers. I wear them all the time and have them is a ton of colors. They are definitely one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I own.

I also paired this dress with jeans. I am not really a big fan of jeans under dresses. Who really can pull off the added bulk but a super model? But, this dress is almost a tunic style and it just works. Add sandals for summer or a camel car coat for warmth and you are ready to go. I am wearing some old Level 99 side zip, flat front denim cropped pants to keep from adding bulk in my tummy area. I think this helps keep the silhouette slim instead of bulky.

My mind is firmly focused on spring and it my hope for warm weather continues. I am the kinda girl who can’t break out the short sleeves and shorts until the temps reach the high 70’s usually some time in July. I am always looking for transitional pieces that I can easily wear through our cool spring, June gloom and finally in our SoCal warm season which runs usually through November.

Next up, my Spring/Summer tops pick. I would love to hear from you. What are your favorite spring season picks?
