Did you know that boujee and bougie are both right?  I didn’t. Both are derived from the word bourgeois, meaning middle or upper class, and both represent a person creating an air of status or wealth.

Though often meant to be a derogatory term, those of us who enjoy the finer things in life have claimed it as our own. I have no problem stating I am a bougie/boujee babe. To me, the term has very little to do with actual wealth and more to do with the types of things we like to spend our discretionary dollars on. Regardless of means, someone who is bougie enjoys luxury and makes their purchases accordingly.

A bougie babe is easy to shop for because they give hints of what they like in their everyday appearance and lives. So if you have a bougie babe on your holiday shopping list, listen carefully.
