Can an Item of Clothing Make You Feel Young Again?
I say yes! I can’t tell you how many times I considered overalls in the last few years. In the nineties, I had the best pair of oversized, velvet, black overalls that I absolutely loved. In recent years, overalls have been making a serious comeback. I definitely wanted a pair but I figured I was just too mature or too tall or too something to wear overalls again.
I don’t know if it is the fact that I am approaching 50 or after years of worrying about what people think I realized I have no power over how they see me, but I decided a pair of overalls was exactly what I needed. There is something about overalls that returns you to the carefreeness of youth. Maybe it is because your outfit looks effortlessly casual and ready for anything. I love these overalls from Madewell. They fit like a dream and are so comfy. I ordered the medium and they fit like they were custom made for me. I paired it with this fabulous animal print top from Zara but I will definitely wear it with my leopard sweatshirt from J.Crew in colder months. As always, I will rock these overalls with all my sneakers from my slip on M.Gemi’s to my Balenciaga Speed Trainers.
